Melissa Rosenberg om New Moon!

'The Twilight Saga' continues this fall with the release of 'New Moon,' while 'Eclipse' will begin filming this month. ET caught up with screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who also is the head writer for "Dexter," to talk about what fans can expect from the next two movies.

ET: What can you tell us about 'New Moon' and 'Eclipse'?
Melissa Rosenberg: It becomes bigger in scope. The first film was really a small romance in a way. There was the battle with James (Cam Gigandet) at the end. That was as big as it got. With 'New Moon,' we have the werewolf clan, we have the Vulturi -- and in 'Eclipse,' there is an epic battle, so with every book, with every episode of the movie, it gets grander in scope, which is fun to write. What was great about that, too, is with the small story and the characters ... to be able to grow with it and track it through, it has really been a great pleasure.

ET: Are you writing for the chemistry between Robert Pattinsonand Kristen Stewart?

Melissa Rosenberg: When I wrote 'Twilight,' I didn't know who was starring in it, so I wrote in a vacuum. There was some rewriting that had to be done when we knew who they were, because I had started with more of a comedic edge and it wasn't appropriate for those actors and the tone. I lean toward the dark comedy, witness "Dexter." So, going into 'New Moon' and 'Eclipse,' I knew who I was writing for. I knew who the characters were and what their voices were. It got even easier with 'Eclipse.' [Author]Stephenie Meyer's created the character's chemistry; and those two actors brought so much chemistry. I don't think the movies would have been so successful without those two actors and their chemistry. 'Twilight' was beautifully cast.

ET: What was the set of 'New Moon' like?

Melissa Rosenberg: 'New Moon' was one of the happiest sets I have ever been on. The guy who picked me up, said, "This is a great set. [Director] Chris Weitz is a genius. It is so wonderful." I was, "Okay, dude, you are overselling." But I got on the set and it was just delightful. You can tell when it is uncomfortable and they are not connecting. Chris Weitz is just a Zen master. I went to him and I was, "You are so cool and calm. And everyone is so cool and calm." He said, "You have no idea what it is going to cost me." My husband is a director and I know what it costs him. You have to tamp down every ounce of panic and frustration in order to project this calmness. I hope Chris got a good vacation between production and post.

ET: What do you think of the recasting of Rachelle Lefevre?

Melissa Rosenberg: I love Rachelle, but Bryce Dallas Howard? It was a shame, but I think Rachelle will go on to do brilliant things. I just love her. I am sure Bryce will be great.

ET: There is a fourth book. Will the franchise continue?

Melissa Rosenberg: I can't imagine Summit letting that go. Right now we are focused on 'Eclipse.' We are just about to start. I imagine there will be discussions.

Intervju med Peter Facinelli

MTV: So, Peter, are you going to head over to the convention floor here at TwiCon and buy any "Twilight" Merchandise?

Peter Facinelli: No, I don't buy them. Because it's like, if you live in the state, you don't go to the local tourist attractions. I mean, I'm inthat world of "Twilight," so I don't walk around with a Carlisle T-shirt. But it is pretty fantastic when you see these fans that have the tattoos of the Cullen Crest and words from the books tattooed on them. ... Their dedication is beyond anything I've ever seen.

MTV: There was a vicious storm Friday night here in Dallas, thunder and everything. Did the Cullens bring the rain with them?

Facinelli: Yeah, I noticed that. I got here and it was sunny, and then I looked out the window again, and it was pouring. I thought, "Oh, what a great day for vampires!"

MTV: We saw two awesome"New Moon"-clips at Comic Con. So what did you think of Edward as an apparition?
Facinelli: I don't know; I haven't seen it.

MTV: You were in San Diego, but you didn't see the footage?

Facinelli: No, I didn't get to see it. Some of the fans have seen more than I have. It's so surreal.

MTV: Wow! Well, speaking of what you've seen: We interviewedJamie Campbell Bower recently, and he was talking about a scene that you guys filmed for "New Moon."
Facinelli: Right, I read that. The flashback where they're all bathing in the Roman bath.

MTV: Chris Weitz says he scene doesn't excist. Can you set the record straight?

Facinelli: No, they were naked. It was really weird! I mean, I come in and I'm in full 18th-century garb, and they're in the Roman bath. Maybe it's a surprise or something ...

MTV: Are you messing with me?

Facinelli: [Laughs.] Yeah, I was. I thought [Bower's joke] was really funny, so I was gonna try and roll with it. But no, there are no nude Volturi in "New Moon."

MTV: OK, we can appreciate a joke. But can you at least tell us: Did you really film a scene for Carlisle where he's meeting the Volturi?

Facinelli: We did film a flashback scene, but we're fully clothed in our garb from that era. It's pretty cool. I think people are going to dig that. I like doing the flashback scenes, because you get to dress up in different time periods. It's set in a time, I think the 1800s, where I have traveled to Italy and I was living with the Volturi.

MTV: How is it set up?

Facinelli: Edward is basically telling Bella the story of who the Volturi are, and then it flashes to scenes of me and the Volturi ... in the Roman bath. [Laughs.] No, we're not in the Roman bath. We're playing cards.

MTV: Playing cards?

Facinelli: [Laughs.] It's a secret, because it's not in the book. We can't give away all the secrets — you'll have to go and see the movie.

MTV: Your co-star Jackson Rathbone has been pålaying with his band all throughout TwiCon. Would you ever be willing to join him onstage and make it 101 Monkeys?

Facinelli: [Laughs.] You know, I keep telling him I want to dance in the banana suit. He has a guy that dances in a banana suit, and I said, "Can I come to your concert and dance in the banana suit?" I have no musical inclination at all — but I can dance in a banana suit like nobody's business.

MTV: I just hope we're there to film it.

Facinelli: Yes. [Laughs.] I hope so too.

Rob har blivit utsett till världens sexigaste man i tidningen Glamour! 2000 kvinnor fick rösta och Rob var (såklart) deras favorit! Inte så svårt att förstå! ;P

Twilight har slagit Harry Potter...

I best-seller listan!!!!

Stephenie Meyer’s four-book Twilight series has sunk its fangs into USA TODAY’s Best-Selling Books list — with no signs of letting go. Meyer’s domination of the list for the past 12 months has smashed records that until now had belonged to J.K. Rowling
Breaking Dawn, the fourth book in the teen-vampire romance series, entered the list at No. 1 on Aug. 2, 2008. Its sales and those of Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse, the first three books, have remained staggering.

This week, Meyer’s novels are Nos. 4, 5, 6 and 7 on USA TODAY’s list.
Rowling, overall, has sold more books than Meyer — her seven-book series about boy wizard Harry Potter has 143 million copies in print in the USA, while Meyer has sold 40 million copies of her four books. But Rowling can’t match Meyer’s control of the list.

"MTV: The birthday scene is certainly a very pivotal moment in the “Twilight” universe. Kellan, Peter and others have told me they had to restrain you during takes. How method did you get?
Rathbone: Yeah, I was going pretty method. We choreographed it — so I wasn’t too worried about attacking Kristen — but I told the guys to hold me back, because you want it to look real. You want it to be as real as possible, because you want that to transfer on film, and you want the audience to feel that frightened sense that I gave Kristen. I felt really bad, man. There was a couple of moments where she was like, “I thought you were going to hit me that time!” I come so close; it’s pretty intense.

MTV: We also see you flying into the piano.
Rathbone: Yeah, there’s a grand piano. I felt bad about that — as a music lover, you can’t destroy a piano. It’s gorgeous. It’s begging to be played. But it looks good on film.

Sabotage på ForksHS!!

A planter box located near the landmark wooden Forks High School Spartans sign was set on fire early Monday morning, Aug. 3.

Below in a photo from Forks Forum Editor Chris Cook’s book ”Twilight Territory” files a fan takes a snap shot of the wooden sign, with the burnt flower planter to the left.

An suspect is being sought in an attempt to burn the landmark wooden Forks Spartan sign that stands in front of the circa 1925 brick Forks High School building. A section of a planter box located about 20 feet from the sign was burned.

The wooden sign which fronts Spartan Ave. is a popular photo op stop for visiting Twilight fans. Tens of thousands of the fans have had their photo taken in front of the sign.
On Monday morning, Forks Police Department Deputy Chief of Police Lloyd Lee reported to the Forks Forum that: ”Early this morning around 0145 hours the on duty officer, Michael Rowley was flagged down in the area of the school and was told about a bench in front of the high school was on fire. The responding officer put the fire out with the fire extinguisher he carries in his vehicle.

”After investigating we found not only was the bench on fire, but the arsonist tried to burn down the Forks High School sign. A one foot in diameter charred area was found behind the sign. Also found was a broken window on the north side of the high school.”
Lee said the Forks Police Department has a person of interest who was seen in the area.

Did you have any idea what you were in store for when you signed up for Twilight
No way. I read the script and I barely even knew that they were books too. The only reason I went to the audition was to see Kristen, because I'd just seen Into The Wild.

Are you saying you had a little bit of a crush on her?
Of course! No, we are just very good friends.,.But there have been a lot of rumours about you two...I know - but honestly, we are just friends.,

Do you have a girlfriend?
No, no. I am young, free and single!What do you look for in a lady?I like people being forward. Gosh, I don't know. I like strong people, chiselled abs... I don't know, I take what I can get!!

You have a huge amount of female fans, are you ever scared by them?
I had no idea people could get so obsessed. But it's not scary - it's amazing. People just project their idea of my character on to me and they just seem to assume that I'm the same, when in reality I'm not.

How comfortable are you with all the idol-like attention?
It's kind of weird, but I still haven't really had time to reflect on it because I've been doing stuff to do with Twilight and my other movies. I'm working constantly and I feel like I'm always surrounded by Twilight people - if not my work colleagues, then my fans. Right now it is fans - it's a little bizarre if I'm honest.

Have you had any weird fan experiences?
One time there were these four girls, in ChicagoI think, and they had all scratched their necks until they bled and then when they came up to me they had these bleeding scabs. It was gross!

What is the hardest part of being Edward Cullen?
Probably trying to be scary when you're supposed to be looking pretty at the same time.

Does it worry you that you may always be cast as a heart-throb?
I'm so surprised things have worked out the way they have, I just keep thinking the whole time, I don't really have the right personality to fit in to that kind of role. I'm not really afraid of it, though, because I don't really know how to play up that aspect of it.

Why do you think Twilight fans are more obsessed than Harry Potter... fans, Lord Of The Rings fans and Matrix fans?
I don't know, but they definitely are. There is this strange kind of connection that some people have to the books - it can be pretty extreme.I think there are fans of Harry Potter... that are like that as well, but I guess this story is just so intimate that people think they really know the characters and can feel the emotions.

If you could live forever, like Edward Cullen, what would you do?
Probably learn to speak French. Or I might spend three weeks straight with no sleep learning the piano. You'd get really good at stuff because you would have time to do everything.

You have said that Edward is a little obsessive - are you surprised that girls think of Edward as the most perfect boyfriend ever?
It's weird, but girls always seem like that.
Being a guy, you always just look at girls and think, why are you with that guy? With virtually anyone the nice guys always seem to come last. You always get weirdos like Edward who seem to attract women for some reason. If Edward wasn't a fictional character and you met him in reality he is like one of those guys who would probably be an axe murderer or something.

"Summit Entertainment has acquired the rights from Stephenie Meyer to film and distribute Breaking Dawn, the fourth novel in her series. Breaking Dawn is in the early pre-production stages. There will likely be quite a bit of tweaking to the novel due to the explicit sex and birth scenes to avoid an R rating.


Sources say that Breaking Dawn will be filmed and released in a new trilogy – “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I”, “Part II” and “Part III”. This has not been confirmed officially by Summit, however author Stephenie Meyer has stated “it would have to be made into multiple movies because it’s hard to imagine it fitting into ninety minutes”.
David Slade is directing Eclipse, but it is unknown if he will also direct any of the Breaking Dawn films. “Breaking Dawn: Part I” should start shooting in early 2010, with a release scheduled for 2011."
