Julia Jones: A Wolf In Chic Clothing

The native of Jamaica Plain has had ample time to enjoy the masculine style during the filming of the long-awaited Eclipse The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn , the first part which opens on November 18. She plays Leah Clearwater, the only woman in the Quileute wolf pack.
"I've spent so much time with the kids during filming," he says. "During eclipse, almost never saw the cast of vampires, where there are more women. However, Breaking Dawn was a little different experience for me. Jacob, Leah and her brother spend more time with the vampires, so I've come to know that part of the cast better. "
The collaboration inherent in the action is one of the things that Jones loves the profession. As in his days in his high school team ski, she says, like improving individual performance throughout the team. "You take the game forward to get a great performance," he says. "I always want to be on the level above me."
That's no surprise, coming from a competitive graduate school, Boston Latin School, where "academic rank is everything," says Jones. And she still remembers his own: 33 of 450. In a school with a diverse student body, Jones felt right at home. "It's an open-minded community," she says, like JP: "One of the great things about growing up with different people, do not pay much attention to the race . My dad is part Choctaw, and African-American Chickosaw. I did not realize the importance of not being white until I moved to Los Angeles. "
From Boston Latin, Jones went to Columbia University. But I miss a semester, "I took the biggest turn of my life," she says, by moving to Los Angeles to begin her acting career. Although he finally graduated, his career has been on a roll since he filmed the movie The Twilight Saga. This year, Jones also is recording Winter in the Blood , and this fall it will start working in the independent film Missed Connections .
Although she has always been reading, Jones says it is not always smart to read the book on which a movie before reading the script."You end up adding too much of the book in character," he says. However, with the Twilight series that was not the case. "Books are so important to the whole Twilight imagination," she says. "I could not stop reading them. Draw you completely. "
If being a reader helped Jones to absorb the role of Leah, to be a dancer in Boston Ballet School from age 4 until their second year of high school helped him to take the physical nature of a wolf. "When I approach a role, the physical is a very important thing for me," he says. "How this character moves, sits, stands for? "
On the set with the guys from the wolf pack, Jones has seen the value of their training. "In Twilight, half of the wolf pack has martial arts training," he says. "There is a focus and discipline that helps with the performance." Her ballet training also helped to maintain positions in modeling for Gap and L'Oreal and takes on the balcony of the luxury suite and Ebersol The Liberty or in the cobbled roads of Beacon Hill (in four-inch heels) to Boston Common, of course.
